MGM Gets More Time to Sell 50 Percent Ownership in Borgata CasinoAugust 8, 2011 – In The News
The Casino Control Commission approved the request to extend the sale of Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa by MGM Resorts International as part of a settlement to leave the Atlantic City market.
MGM attorney Nicholas Casiello Jr. said, "we're very optimistic that all of the changes implemented in the last six months or so will be very helpful."
Casiello is referring to New Jersey's recent regulatory overhaul and Gov. Christie's creation of a new state-run Tourism District to make the city safer and cleaner, all of which should help entice potential buyers in the future.
