Much has been written about the agreement of Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary to pay the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services $1.5 million to settle potential violations involving an alleged security breach of protected health information. But this is only the second of what may be three significant breaches experienced by MEEI in the last three years. It is perplexing that nothing about the organization's 2012 breach has been posted on the HHS list of breaches to this point, says Michael Kline of Fox Rothschild LLP.
