A committee is set to give recommendations to the Senate on whether or not Attorney General Kathleen Kane is required to step away from office due to the suspension of her law license.

Fox Rothschild’s Beth L. Weisser, “testified that there was significant overlap between the attorney general’s duties as defined in the state’s Commonwealth Attorneys Act, and activities that disciplinary rules bar formerly admitted attorneys from engaging in.”

According to Weisser, “Some, if not all, of the obligations under the Commonwealth Attorneys Act fall squarely within the activities that a formerly admitted attorney is not permitted to do.”
