Philadelphia Law Firm Fox Rothschild Absorbing Minneapolis FirmDecember 15, 2015 – In The News
Mark L. Silow was featured in The Philadelphia Inquirer article, “Philadelphia Law Firm Fox Rothschild Absorbing Minneapolis Firm.” Full text can be found in the December 15, 2015, issue, but a synopsis is below.
Fox Rothschild’s attorney count will grow to more than 700 after the law firm announced it would be merging with Minneapolis-based Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly LLP on January 4, 2016.
The firm's strategy of dealing with large and diverse groups of clients helped Fox Rothschild grow from 530 attorneys in early 2014 and survive the legal market recession seven years ago.
"This is one of those mergers that is driven by all of the good reasons," said Mark Silow, Fox Rothschild's managing partner.
"Their practice is growing and needed more depth," he said of Oppenheimer. "Our practice is growing, and we have clients that need more geography and national scope."
Oppenheimer will be coming on board with 82 attorneys, and the firm is known for commercial and health care litigation, financial services, real estate and other practices.
Silow said that absorbing regional firms in robust urban markets has assisted in boosting business for Fox Rothschild.
"We have an enormous client base, and we have just proven that when we are in vibrant metro areas, our existing clients just seem to generate work in those markets," he said.
