Despite the inherently dangerous nature of their jobs, most emergency service workers do not have wills or other estate-planning documents.

Now local attorneys are helping to solve this issue through a program called Wills for Heroes. The program was started after the September 11 terrorist attacks.

On March 2 and March 9, nearly 60 volunteer attorneys, law students, notaries and paralegals will conduct a Wills for Heroes Program for all active and retired Pennsylvania First Responders of Bucks County.

Fox attorney Sandra Romaszewski coordinated the event.

“I was surprised to hear that so many of the first responders don’t have the paperwork,” said Romaszewski. “They put themselves on the line every day.”

When asked about the schedule for the two upcoming events Romaszewski said, “We’re pretty booked. We have several more opportunities coming up in Montgomery County and in Philadelphia in the next few months as well.”
