Raul Valdes-Fauli Awarded the National Order of Merit by the President of France

Raul Valdes-Fauli, partner in the Miami office of Fox Rothschild LLP, has been awarded the National Order of Merit, one of the highest awards and recognitions bestowed by Francois Hollande, the President of France, in the grade of officer.

This distinction is in honor of Valdes-Fauli’s efforts towards the promotion of France and its culture. He is being recognized for his professional and personal achievements, as well as his role in the business world and local community.

Valdes-Fauli currently serves as chairman of the France Florida Foundation for the Arts, a nonprofit organization founded by the Consulate General of France in Miami and the French Consulate’s Culture Services department to promote a greater international understanding between France and Florida by facilitating cultural, educational and artistic exchanges between the two. He is also a past recipient of the French National Order of the Legion of Honour in the degree of Chevalier.

In practice for more than four decades, Valdes-Fauli is a dedicated advocate to many professional, trade and civic groups. He has spent significant time in elected government positions throughout his career, including Mayor of the City of Coral Gables from 1993 to 2001, as well as Vice Mayor (1987-1988) and City Commissioner (1985-1989).

Valdes-Fauli received his J.D. from Harvard University Law School in 1968 and his B.A. from Tulane University in 1965.
