Reginald Jones of Fox Rothschild Named Dean of the Associated Builders and Contractors Virginia Chapter’s School of Government Contracting

Reginald “Reggie” M. Jones, chair of Fox Rothschild’s Government Contracts and Procurement Practice and resident in the firm’s Washington DC office, has been named dean of the Government Contracting School at the Virginia Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors’ (ABC-VA) U at ABC-VA.

The U at ABC-VA focuses on delivering continuing education with an emphasis on leading the construction industry through market, process and technological changes. As dean of the Government Contracting School, Jones is responsible for the overall quality control of the school, including course offerings, curriculum, materials and instructors.

An active member of the association, Jones is the chairman-elect of the Management Education Committee and has instructed numerous educational sessions on government contracts and construction law topics such as Small Business Administration regulations, federal ethics and compliance requirements, Miller Act payment and performance bond claims on federal projects, the False Claims Act and more.

In addition to his role with ABC-VA, Jones is active in a number of other construction law committees and organizations, including the Washington Building Congress, the Associated General Contractors of America, the Construction Law Section of the Virginia and the Atlanta Bar Associations and the American Bar Association’s Construction Division, which he co-chaired from 2009 to 2010.

Jones’ experience and knowledge of new developments and regulatory changes provides clients nationwide with guidance on government contracting and construction matters. He assists with risk management, claims avoidance, litigation and dispute resolution and possesses a comprehensive knowledge of various federal agencies.

Jones actively advises contractors on issues such as teaming arrangements on federal small business set-asides, compliant federal small business subcontracting plans, Buy American Act compliance, past performance review challenges, False Claims Act defense, wrongful termination challenges and debarment proceedings. He frequently authors articles on government contracts and construction law issue for various trade publications.

Jones earned his J.D., cum laude, from University of Georgia School of Law in 1999 and his B.A. from The College of William and Mary in 1991.
