Rhonda E. Ores, a partner in the Litigation Department at Fox Rothschild LLP, was recently elected to the New York County Lawyers Association (NYCLA) Board of Directors.
Ores served as co-chair of the Association’s Matrimonial Law Section Committee from 2007 to 2011 and is a delegate on the Association’s Matrimonial Law Section of the Interdisciplinary Forum on Mental Health and Family Law.
Known as one of the largest and most influential county bar associations in the country, the NYCLA has played a crucial role in many reforms in American jurisprudence and has had a powerful impact on both the law and public policy. It was the first major bar association in the country to admit members without regard to race, ethnicity, religion or gender and continues to spearhead efforts that support diversity in the legal profession.
Ores focuses her practice on all aspects of matrimonial and family law, including drafting and negotiating ante-nuptial agreements, post-nuptial agreements and separation agreements. Her litigation experience includes motion practice, depositions, hearings, trials and appeals in the New York State family and supreme courts on various aspects of family law, including equitable distribution, child support and maintenance, child custody and visitation and paternity.
Ores is a member of the New York State Bar Association and was a member of the Matrimonial Law Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York from 2007 to 2010. She earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1990 and her B.A., cum laude, from University of Rochester in 1987.
