Ronald J. Shaffer, a litigation partner at Fox Rothschild LLP, was recently re-elected chair of the SeniorLAW Center’s Board of Directors.

Shaffer was first elected to serve as the SeniorLAW Center’s chair in November 2010. Shaffer’s invaluable service and leadership has helped advance SeniorLaw Center’s mission to improve the lives of older Pennsylvanians through legal representation, education and advocacy.

SeniorLAW Center provides a wide range of services through its staff attorneys and pro bono volunteers, a state-wide Helpline, community outreach and guidance, referrals and advice for long-term systemic solutions. The SeniorLAW Center focuses on the most critical needs of elders, including protection from abuse and exploitation, staying in their homes and communities, economic security, health care planning and enabling grandparents to raise grandchildren.

Shaffer also helps seniors through his dedicated pro bono work with SeniorLAW Center. Fox Rothschild has been a consistent supporter of SeniorLAW Center and a sponsor of its annual gala. Many Fox Rothschild attorneys serve as SeniorLAW Center pro bono volunteers, helping to save homes and strengthen intergenerational families.

A veteran litigator, Shaffer has represented clients in state and federal courts across the country and is former chair of Fox Rothschild’s national litigation practice. He handles a broad range of commercial litigation matters, including various types of intellectual property disputes, trade secrets, securities and class actions as well as corporate and shareholder disputes.

Shaffer is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations. He earned his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law in 1980 and his B.A. from Pennsylvania State University in 1976.
