April 27, 2015 – Press Releases

Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to announce that Scott L. Vernick and Ian D. Meklinsky have been elected to serve as at-large members of the firm’s Executive Committee, which is its governing body.

Vernick and Meklinsky will succeed Stephanie Resnick and Alexander Hernaez, who have completed their respective terms on the committee.

A nationally ranked trial lawyer and head of the firm’s Privacy and Data Security Practice, Vernick represents Fortune 500 companies in lawsuits that focus on technology, intellectual property, health care, privacy and data security. Over the past decade, he has developed extensive fluency in the rapidly evolving field of privacy and data security. He routinely counsels multinational and mid-sized businesses on how to mitigate risk and overcome the challenges posed by the current state and federal enforcement environment. For several years, Vernick has contributed to the “Combating Cyberthreats” section to West/Thompson Reuters’s Data Security and Privacy Law guide, and he is also a frequent commentator for national and local media outlets on current issues related to privacy.

Vernick received his J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University in 1987 and his B.A. from Trinity College in 1983.

Co-chair of the firm’s Labor and Employment Department, Meklinsky represents employers across the country in both union and non-union contexts. He works closely with human resource professionals and in-house counsel to navigate the increasingly complex workplace-related rules and regulations mandated by the myriad of laws to provide creative, practical, cost-effective advice and solutions to employment issues.

Meklinsky received his J.D. from George Washington University School of Law in 1991 and his B.A., magna cum laude, from George Washington University School of Business in 1988.
