Stephanie Nolan Deviney of Fox Rothschild Elected To Pennsylvania State University’s Board of Trustees

Stephanie Nolan Deviney, an attorney in the Exton office of Fox Rothschild LLP, has been elected to the Pennsylvania State University’s Board of Trustees for a three-year term effective July 1.

Deviney joins the 32-member board that is composed of six members appointed by the governor, nine elected by the alumni and six members each elected by agricultural societies and by the board representing business and industry endeavors. In addition, five members serve in an ex officio capacity by virtue of their position within the University or the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Deviney is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department and Construction Law Group. She has considerable experience representing contractors and subcontractors in commercial litigation matters, including construction lien claims, mechanic’s liens, bond liens and delay damages.

Deviney has significant experience litigating claims under Pennsylvania's Contractor and Subcontractor Payment Act and Public Project Prompt Payment Act. Additionally, she has successfully litigated claims on behalf of owners of large commercial properties, general contractors and subcontractors specializing in steel erection, HVAC supply and installation and installing synthetic surfaces. She has defended homebuilders on various claims brought by homeowners, in addition to her significant experience mediating and litigating multiparty construction claims in both state and federal courts throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Deviney has also represented both mortgagors and mortgagees in foreclosure actions.

An active Alumni, Deviney is the secretary/treasurer for the General Alumni Association of the Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University, and serves as President of the Delchester Chapter of the Association. She is also a member of the Women Build Committee for Chester County Habitat for Humanity. Deviney serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Villa Maria Academy Alumnae Association and was recently appointed to the Villa Maria Academy Advisory Board.

Deviney received her J.D. from Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University in 1997 and her B.A. from the University of Richmond in 1994.
