October 16, 2008

Stephanie Resnick, Chair of the Litigation Department at Fox Rothschild LLP, has been appointed to Mayor Michael Nutter’s Advisory Task Force on Ethics and Campaign Finance Reform.

The Task Force is comprised of nine members appointed by Mayor Michael Nutter, Anna Verna, City Council President, and other City leadership. Resnick was appointed to the Task Force by Michael Pratt, Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association.

The Task Force, which was established by Executive Order on September 24, 2008, will perform a comprehensive review of the City’s campaign finance ordinance, public campaign financing laws, City government ethics reforms, and opinions on restrictions of political activity for City elected officials. The culmination of the Task Force’s efforts will be a report to the Mayor and Council President recommending improvements, changes and amendments to the existing campaign finance and ethics laws in Philadelphia.

Resnick, a partner in the firm’s Philadelphia office, represents high-profile business and individual clients in complex business-related litigation in state and federal courts, as well as arbitration and mediation. She is Chair of The Philadelphia Bar Association’s Board of Governors, and previously served as Chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Commission on Judicial Selection and Retention, as well as Chair of the Federal Courts Committee - the liaison between the Federal Bench and its practitioners.
