National consulting firm, Altman Weil, recently released a survey showing law firms nationwide still expect to conduct layoffs in 2010, but at a lesser rate than in 2009.

Abraham Reich was quoted saying Fox Rothschild has not had to cut any staff since the recession hit, noting however, the national legal community will likely still experience layoffs. Echoing the survey results, he felt the rate of layoffs would decrease this year.

Reich said he felt one of the biggest changes the legal community has seen is the emphasis on client relations and business development, as well as an increase of creativity in billing practices.
