Swain Appointed to Philadelphia Bar Association Leadership RoleDecember 16, 2014 – Press Releases
Fox Rothschild congratulates Partner Julia Swain, who was recently elected to the Philadelphia Bar Association Board of Governors.
Swain was the top vote-getter of the five candidates chosen by the Association’s membership at the annual election to serve on the Board. Her three-year term will begin January 1, 2015.
The Philadelphia Bar Association, which is the oldest association of lawyers in the United States, focuses on serving the legal profession and general public by promoting justice, professional excellence and respect for the rule of law. In so doing, the Association strives to foster increased understanding of, and involvement in, the U.S. justice system, while improving access to the system for citizens.
Swain, an active member of the Association and its Family Law Section, concentrates her practice in family law matters such as divorce, custody, support, equitable distribution and domestic abuse. She litigates family law cases in Philadelphia and the surrounding communities of Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties. Her practice also includes litigating in appellate courts and negotiating settlements and prenuptial agreements.
“I am delighted to have been elected to the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Board of Governors,” Swain said. “The Association has always played a central role in the legal community in the Greater Philadelphia area. Strong leadership and active involvement are critical to continue advancing the Association’s mission.”
