The energy market has been a main reason for Pennsylvania firms’ interest in entering the Texas market, but some firms have chosen to grow in other practices when first settling in the Lone Star State.

Fox Rothschild, the most recent PA firm to enter Texas, announced it is merging with 18-lawyer Dallas firm David & Goodman, P.C.David & Goodman attorneys bring with them litigation, corporate and family law capabilities. While David & Goodman attorneys do not have a particular focus on energy, Fox Managing Partner, Mark Silow explains that the firm’s new energy practice in Denver could benefit from the Texas Office.

Fox often merges with small boutiques to enter new markets and focuses on getting the new location to a critical mass of at least 25 lawyers, Silow mentioned.He also noted that the firm is open to starting offices in other Texas cities.
