Top Law Firms See Growth Opportunities in Key Practice AreasJune 29, 2015 – In The News
Amy S. Rubin was quoted in the South Florida Legal Guide article, “Top Law Firms See Growth Opportunities in Key Practice Areas.” Full text can be found in the Midyear 2015 issue, but a synopsis is below.
Ten Years of Growth
Since it first opened its West Palm Beach office a decade ago, Fox Rothschild has seen steady growth of its presence in the region.
“Our full-service West Palm office now has more than 25 partners and associates handling issues for our diverse client base,” says Amy S. Rubin, a board certified specialist in civil trial and business litigation law and managing partner of Fox’s West Palm Beach and Miami offices.
In 2013, Fox opened an office in Coral Gables with Partner Raúl J. Valdés-Fauli, and recently moved that office – which now has six attorneys – to downtown Miami in order to accommodate future growth. “We expect Miami will really grow in the business practice areas,” Rubin says.
A national firm, Fox has more than 600 attorneys practicing in 21 offices coast to coast.
According to Rubin, the practice of law has been accelerated with the availability of 24/7 communications technology.
“Technology is a big issue for law firms,” she says. “You have to provide greater access to connect with clients, while maintaining data security throughout the process. Being able to have videoconferences with attorneys and clients in multiple locations has really helped us deliver legal services more promptly.”
Rubin says the role of the office managing partner today is to work closely with department and practice chairs and to support Fox’s entrepreneurial culture. “Our firm focuses on mid-market clientele, as well as big clients, so we have a very solid foundation for future growth,” she says.
