Vincent J. Poppiti of Fox Rothschild LLP Give Presentation to the Delaware Chinese American AssociationDecember 12, 2011 – Press Releases
Vincent J. Poppiti, partner at Fox Rothschild LLP, recently presented “Mediation/Arbitration: Resolution of Disputes Beyond the Courtroom” as part of a series of seminars hosted by the Delaware Chinese American Association (DCAA).
The goal of the seminar, which was conducted in Chinese and English, was to bring awareness to alternate methods of dispute resolution, demonstrate how mediation and arbitration promote efficiency and fairness, and explain the processes of both. Poppiti and Wang provided the audience with an interactive experience to help foster a better understanding of the mechanics of litigation, mediation and arbitration. The seminar was held in the library of the Chinese American Community Center in Hockessin, Delaware.
Founded in 1997 to serve the Chinese American community in Delaware, the DCAA sponsors and supports the First State Chun Hui Chinese School, which teaches Chinese language and culture to more than 250 students from pre-K to tenth grade.
A former chief judge of the Family Court of Delaware, Poppiti has more than 30 years of experience in civil litigation and alternative dispute resolution. He serves as Special Master and Special Master Liaison to the United States District Court for the District of Delaware in numerous intellectual property, antitrust, and patent law matters. He has served in various capacities in Delaware courts and is former resident judge of the New Castle County Superior Court and former associate judge of the Superior Court of Delaware. He is also a retired colonel in the Air National Guard, where he served as the staff judge advocate, and a retired captain in the U.S. Air Force, where he served as an assistant staff judge.
Poppiti received his J.D. from University of Virginia School of Law in 1970 and his B.A., summa cum laude, in cursu honorum, from Fordham University in 1967.
