Wali W. Rushdan II Appointed to Delaware State Board of Education

Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Wali W. Rushdan II, appointed by Delaware Governor John Carney as a board member of the Delaware State Board of Education.

The state board is comprised of seven members, appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Delaware State Senate, to serve as the primary voice for Delaware citizens on education policy. Rushdan, whose appointment was unanimously confirmed by the Delaware State Senate on January 17, will serve a six-year term.

In this role, Rushdan will work with educators, legislators, students, families and other stakeholders to ensure that public education throughout Delaware is held to the highest standards and that all Delawareans have access to a quality public education.

Passionate about giving back to the community, Rushdan also currently serves as president of the Delaware Barristers Association, co-chair of the Board of Directors of the Achievers Program, Inc. and is chairman of the Amina’s Hope Scholarship Fund. In recognition of these contributions, he received the Rutgers Law Recent Graduate award, was named an Emerging Leader in the Law by Manna Christian Fellowship Church in Wilmington and was listed among Chains Inc.’s 40 Under 40 list.

At Fox, Rushdan focuses his practice on a complex corporate litigation matters, intellectual property litigation, and transactional matters in real estate and entertainment law.

Rushdan earned is J.D. from Rutgers Law School, his B.A. from University of Delaware and his A.A. from Delaware Technical Community College.
