William Bogot and Joshua Horn Named Co-Chairs of Fox’s Cannabis Law Practice

November 7, 2016 – Press Releases

Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to announce that William Bogot (Chicago) and Joshua Horn (Philadelphia) have been named co-chairs of the firm’s nationwide Cannabis Law Practice.

Fox’s multidisciplinary Cannabis Law Practice, which has been assisting clients for more than a year, consists of more than 35 professionals across legal disciplines throughout the firm who have long-standing experience solving legal challenges for clients operating within this highly regulated industry. The team counsels growers, distributors, processors, investors and others, including suppliers of ancillary products and services.

Responding to the needs of businesses in the legalized cannabis industry, the group recently published a National Survey on Marijuana Laws and Regulations to provide a quick reference guide to the relevant laws and statutes governing marijuana cultivation, sales, distribution and use in the United States.

Bogot counsels clients in the medical cannabis space in Pennsylvania, California and other jurisdictions and assists clients with business formation, operational plans, shareholder agreements and regulatory compliance. Additionally, he advises clients with banking and U.S. Department of Treasury issues relating to medical cannabis transactions and has helped clients acquire cultivation licenses from the Illinois Department of Agriculture and dispensary licenses from the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation.

Horn, who also serves as co-chair of the firm’s Securities Practice, provides services and guidance to legalized marijuana businesses in the areas of licensing, regulatory compliance, shareholder and partnership agreements, venture capital and securities, banking and financial services, employment and liability.

The group is currently representing the Cannabis Consumer Coalition and has advised clients throughout the United States where the product is legalized and regulated in some form.
