In early 2007, Greg Williams became Fox's first African-American Office Managing Partner when he took over as head of the firm's Wilmington office. Greg sat down with Elizabeth Bennett of Delaware Law Weekly to discuss his new role, and his efforts to enhance diversity in the legal field.

In the article, "Williams a 'First' for Fox Rothschild and Wilmington," which appeared on May 16, 2007, Greg talks about his work as a partner in the business and litigation practice areas, and the growth of the Wilmington office. Bennett notes that Greg is the first African-American managing partner of a law firm in Wilmington staffed by more than 10 attorneys. The Wilmington office currently is home to 18 attorneys and more than 20 support staff members.

Bennett also spoke with firm co-chairs Abe Reich and Phillip Griffin. Griffin noted that "Greg was appointed because he was the right guy for the job, and he showed leadership skills."

Both Reich and Griffin discussed the firm's policy of appointing managing partners for one-year terms, with no managing partner reappointed for more than five years, and also discussed the opportunity for growth in the office.

Said Reich, "[Greg] knows the firm really well….I watched him develop. He is an excellent lawyer with great judgment and good skills."
