Julia Swain was quoted in the article, “Work-Life Balance Scale: Tipping In Work’s Favor,” which appeared in The Legal Intelligencer’s Young Lawyers Division supplement on December 11, 2008. The article discusses firms’ work-life initiatives and whether the recession has had an effect of many firms’ policies.

Said Swain, who joined the firm in 2003 after having her first child, "the firm had a strong commitment to focusing on work-life balance issues before I arrived, and it continues to do so by engaging in open discussions regarding maternity and paternity leave and by permitting flexible schedules to accommodate the needs of its lawyers… The recessionary trend of the economy has not caused any change in policies at my firm relating to hourly demands or in implementing more restrictive part-time schedules."
