Drawing The Line On Monitoring Employee Tech Use

Law 360

June 4, 2010

Ian Siminoff and Daniel Kuperstein authored an article regarding use of electronic communication in the workplace and employer monitoring of such communication, highlighting the disputes that have arisen between what is considered an employees' right to privacy and the rights of a company to protect itself and its employees.  The authors reference several cases, including City of Ontario v. Quon and the Stengart decision, and discuss what these and others cases mean for employers.
