Former New Jersey Supreme Court Justice Virginia Long shared her comments on contingency fee arragements between state attorneys general and private attorneys with Law 360, stating that even AGs have taken steps to avoid appearances of conflict.
“In New Jersey, there's no monetary restriction, but the [private] firms have to make full disclosures,” Long said. “There seems to be general agreement by scholars, attorneys, even reformers; they agree that you're going to have to be careful when you enter into these contingencies.”
