The New Jersey Senate recently gave final approval to a bill to overhaul a program aimed at spurring energy savings projects. Governor Chris Christie is expected to sign the bill (A-2313).

Steven S. Goldenberg, co-chair of the firm’s Energy and Public Utilities practice, has been pushing for the changes in the law, known as the Energy Savings Improvement Program (ESIP). He recently discussed the bill with NJ Spotlight.

“This is expected to loosen up literally hundreds of millions of dollars for projects," Goldenberg said. “It’s a major job play. It’s a major economic development tool -- most importantly, at no cost to taxpayers."
