Fox Rothschild Named Second Most Diverse Law Firm in California
January 3, 2013
As a testament to its commitment to diversity, Fox Rothschild was recently named #2 in diversity among law firms in California in a survey of 150 law firms by The Recorder.
Of the total attorneys working in Fox Rothschild’s California offices, 52.6 percent are diverse.
“I am very happy to see the firm recognized for its conscious effort to promote diversity and establish an inclusive work environment,” said Jeffrey S. Kravitz, office managing partner of the Los Angeles office who has helped to grow this initiative.
The firm was noted for recruiting and developing diverse talent as well as fostering a positive environment in which diverse attorneys can professionally flourish in. Some of the activities cited include the firm’s participation in the NALP Diversity Pipeline program, the Verbum Dei High School internship program and its attorneys’ involvement in various minority bar associations, including the National Bar Association, The California Minority Counsel Program and Asian Pacific Lawyers Association, among others.
Diverse attorneys in our California offices also hold leadership roles within the firm and have received various industry accolades in the past year. For example, partner Darrell D. Miller was named Chair of the firm’s newly established Entertainment Department and was the recipient of the “Entertainment Attorney of the Year Award” by the National Bar Association. Partner Yesenia Gallegos served as Chair of the Hispanic National Bar Association’s Women’s Leadership Conference.
Across its 17 offices, the firm’s Diversity Committee spearheads initiatives to promote firm-wide diversity and inclusiveness. The committee is comprised of attorneys and other professionals throughout the firm’s national network of offices who offer a variety of insights into successfully incorporating diversity throughout the firm. Among its activities, the committee has hosted firm-wide diversity retreats that unite partners and associates from many backgrounds and provide attorneys with the opportunity to share common experiences and forge connections for the future.
The firm regularly participates in and sponsors external diversity initiatives and bar-related events, including regional and local minority law student job fairs and other minority recruiting events, including but not limited to the Drexel University Minority Law Student Fellowship Program, the Philadelphia Diversity Law Group and the Montgomery County Bar Association’s First-Year Diversity Summer Program.
