Former Rep. Murphy Joins Fox Rothschild

Former U.S. Rep. Patrick J. Murphy joined Fox Rothschild’s litigation team in the firm’s Philadelphia and Warrington offices. Murphy joined as partner rather than of counsel or another role because he wants to practice law rather than just lobby and also wants to help with the firm’s expansion.

“During his time in Congress, Patrick worked tirelessly to implement measures for fiscal responsibility at the federal level and to pass laws that benefit active members of the military as well as veterans and their families,” administrative partner Mark Silow said. “His strong record of achievement with public and private sector groups in the Philadelphia region, in Washington and nationally will serve our clients well, particularly those with key interests in regulatory changes.” Silow said Murphy’s military service and work on the House Armed Services Committee is a perfect match for the firm’s focus on trade issues in the new Washington office.

Murphy has already met with Margaret Gatti, partner in the firm’s Washington office, and is excited about working with her group though he will be working mainly in Pennsylvania. By joining the firm, Murphy said he has more time to spend with his wife and two children who are now 4 and 1.
