Prior to joining the firm, Patrick worked as a litigation associate at several Los Angeles law firms. He is a former intern for the USC Post-Conviction Justice Project, where he represented clients at parole hearings as well as inmates serving life sentences. He played a key role in researching and drafting a successful habeas corpus petition for the parole of a rehabilitated California inmate, a case that ultimately prohibited the state’s denial of parole to inmates solely on the basis of their crimes.

Prior to his practice of law, Patrick was a compliance coordinator for Nagase America Corporation, where he audited import and export chemical products database for EPA compliance. Fluent in Japanese, he also previously worked as an interpreter and product planner for a major Japanese manufacturing company, where he provided translation and planning services in the United States and abroad.
