“Myth-Busters” Campaign Seeks To Improve Agency-Contractor Communications

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) recently launched its “Myth-Busting” campaign to encourage more frequent and substantive communications between federal agencies and contractors during the acquisition process.

The second installment of the series, released May 7, addresses common procurement misconceptions held by contractors and suggests best practices for contractors to effectively market to federal agencies. Contractors are encouraged to engage with the procuring agency early by participating in one-on-one meetings and providing feedback in response to RFIs or draft RFPs. The feedback will inform agencies of what works, what doesn’t, and how an RFP can be improved.
