Welcome to the first 2009 edition of In the Zone. This special issue is packed with information on the latest zoning issues in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. We start off with a look at how recent New Jersey housing reminded Thomas McCloskey of the mega-hit Animal House, and then follow with reviews of critical cases in Pennsylvania – a look a mineral mining issues – and in New Jersey – issues of spot zoning.

Our Environmental Corner discusses the PADEP’s Right-to-Know Law policy, and we offer some quick looks at subdivision, HUD form revisions and a fire sprinkler mandate.

Be sure to take a look at the HBA’s position statement on the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s proposed revisions to many of its guidance policies governing the issuance of Highway Occupancy Permits (HOP). The intent of these revisions is to improve the permitting environment for applicants.

As always, if you have any questions about these issues, or about any issues you’re currently facing, give us a call or visit us on the web at www.foxrothschild.com. We look forward to speaking with you soon!
