Health Care Reform Challenges in Congress and the Courts

The newly Republican-controlled House of Representatives voted 245-189 on Jan. 19 to repeal the controversial 2011 health care reform law, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). Though no one expects this vote to spell the end of what its opponents call "Obamacare," the PPACA will remain a political football this year and into next. Two federal courts have declared it unconstitutional, and the Supreme Court is likely to have the final word.
