NYDOL Issues Final Rates for State Wage Order for Restaurant IndustryJuly 2009 – Alerts Hospitality Practice Alert
Subsequent to the Alert we issued on July 21 advising clients of the increases to the federal minimum wage and the related effect on New York state’s minimum wage, the New York State Department of Labor (NYDOL) has issued its final rates for New York State’s Wage Order for the Restaurant Industry. There is one difference in the draft rates as previously reported: the meal allowance for tipped employees has remained at $2.10/meal. The meal allowance for all other employees has increased from $2.45/meal to $2.50/meal, as originally stated.
