PADEP Releases Proposed Initiatives for Improving NPDES Permitting

November 2006 In The Zone

As seen in the In The Zone newsletter.

On November 3, 2006, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection released a number of draft proposals for improving the NPDES permitting process. Developers are required to obtain NPDES permits for stormwater discharges associated with construction activities. The Department invited public comments through December 3, 2006. In addition to requesting comments, PADEP is requesting recommendations from the public on other approaches that could improve the efficiency of the NPDES permitting process for construction activities and post-construction stormwater management.
