In an attempt to keep school districts aware of impending residential development within its borders, House Bill No. 1754 proposes to add provisions to the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code to require a municipality to notify the superintendent in writing if a plan for a residential development or development plans for a planned residential development were finally approved by the municipality during the preceding month. The notice from the municipality to the superintendent is required to include, at a minimum, the location of the development, the number and types of units to be included in the development and the expected construction schedule of the development.
