Proposed legislation continues to further address storm water management, this time by allowing for a broader scope of review of storm water impact, as House Bill 582 proposes to provide for regulations for the contents of subdivision and land development ordinances by providing that a subdivision and land development ordinance may include the following:

  • “[p]rovisions for ensuring an assessment of the potential impact of storm water runoff quantity, velocity and quality within the municipality and to other contiguous municipalities within the local watershed boundaries.”
  • "[p]rovisions to encourage the development of reasonably necessary methods to manage storm water runoff to mitigate any potential adverse impacts upon the health, safety and property within the municipality or other contiguous municipalities within the local watershed boundaries.”
