May 23, 2017 – Press Releases

Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to announce that the National Diversity Council of Southern California has named Yesenia M. Gallegos among Southern California’s Most Powerful and Influential Women.

Launched in 2008, the National Diversity Council is the first nonprofit organization to bring together the private, public and nonprofit sectors to discuss the many dimensions and benefits of a multicultural environment.

This prestigious award is presented to women who possess and continually develop strong leadership skills, who show a long record of accomplishments and contributions throughout their career, who are present in their communities and who exhibit a strong “commitment to the highest ethical standards and professional excellence.”

A partner at Fox, Gallegos co-chairs the firm’s Diversity Committee, overseeing and participating in numerous initiatives aimed at the recruitment, retention and advancement of diverse attorneys. She is also an active speaker and has presented at national conferences on the topics of diversity in the legal profession and the need for professionals to have mentors and sponsors to help their career trajectory.

Known for her professional excellence, integrity, leadership and commitment to the legal and Latino/a community, Gallegos is renowned as a mentor to other junior attorneys throughout the firm.

Additionally, Gallegos is a long-standing and high-profile member of the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA). She is a member of the HNBA’s Latina Commission, created to study and remedy the status of Latinas in the legal profession who continue to experience the lowest representation of any racial or ethnic group as compared to their overall presence in the nation. Gallegos also served as the HNBA’s Regional President for Southern California from 2013-2014 and received the HNBA’s “Regional President of the Year” award in 2014 for her contributions in that role.

In her legal practice, Gallegos handles labor and employment matters and advises clients in such areas as restrictive covenants, wage and hour law, discrimination and harassment, executive employment agreements, leaves of absence, and high risk employee terminations. As a litigator, she represents Fortune 500 companies and others in class actions and single plaintiff employment litigation in federal and state court and before administrative tribunals.

Gallegos received her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law and her B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
