The attorneys on Fox Rothschild's Affordable Housing team are business-oriented deal makers. We assist clients through the entire development process, including negotiating, deal structuring and financing, acquiring property, reviewing title and closing. We’re adept at conducting transactions and problem solving within the complex parameters set forth by the various funding programs involved in affordable housing development. We have detailed knowledge of the Housing Act of 1937, Section 42 of the Internal Revenue Code and Title 24 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
The effectiveness of our team is enhanced by a close working relationship with HUD staff. Our attorneys have worked with the HUD headquarters staff on dozens of mixed-finance, RAD and Choice Neighborhoods transactions to produce quality public housing units, LIHTC units, Section 8 units, market rate units and homeownership units all over the country. We also work regularly with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and have extensive knowledge of the various executions and programmatic requirements, which allows us to provide invaluable insight in the early stages of the development process to ensure that our clients receive the best possible financing terms available for the construction of new or preservation of existing affordable housing stock.
