Biography

Alex is an experienced trial lawyer whose practice centers on commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation and defense of catastrophic injury claims. His diverse experience includes banking litigation, business disputes, product liability matters, breach of contract claims, trademark and copyright litigation, real estate litigation and white-collar criminal defense.

A member of the firm’s Aviation Practice Group, Alex is well-versed in all aspects of aviation and transportation litigation. His experience includes work on the National Airlines crash at Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, and serving as liability counsel for Piper Aircraft in connection with a crash in England.

Alex’s Financial Service Industries practice includes representation of financial institutions, including local and regional banks and mortgage lenders in commercial and consumer lending issues. He routinely litigates claims relating to commercial lease agreements that are covered by the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC). Alex has also counseled clients in successfully applying for and obtaining Paycheck Protection Program loans under the CARES Act.

As a member of Fox’s IP Litigation group, Alex has experience advocating and counseling clients in both trademark and copyright lawsuits. When litigation arises, Alex utilizes his trial experience to protect and defend clients’ businesses, brands and proprietary information. Alex focuses his IP litigation practice on trademark infringement, copyright infringement, unfair competition, false advertising and anti-counterfeit litigation in federal courts across the country.

During his years as a criminal prosecutor, Alex was assigned to the Organized Crime Unit and participated in nearly 60 criminal trials. He harnesses his experience and prosecutorial strategy in successfully defending individuals and businesses in all stages of a criminal investigation and prosecution.

In his criminal defense practice, Alex has successfully resolved DUI crash involving personal injury and property damage, domestic and dating violence charges by securing a lesser charge. He has also handled cases of armed robbery, attempted murder, domestic battery, drug possession, organized scheme to defraud and theft.

Before Fox Rothschild

Prior to joining Fox Rothschild, Alex was an associate in the aviation and commercial litigation group of a national law firm. He also was lead Florida counsel for a financial institution on UCC matters involving lease agreements.

Before that, Alex served as an Assistant State Attorney in the Organized Crime Unit in Palm Beach County, where he prosecuted nearly 60 jury trials to verdict.
