A certified patent attorney, Alexis has extensive experience in all fields of patent law, with particular emphasis in patent work relating to the chemical, pharmaceutical and biochemical arts. Alexis’ work includes:

  • counseling clients on intellectual property matters
  • planning and managing U.S. and international patent programs
  • negotiating and drafting licensing and other agreements that involve intellectual property rights

Alexis has substantial experience in conducting studies involving due diligence, patent validity, and freedom-to-operate and in the practice of international patent law. He has traveled throughout Europe and the Far East, where he lectured at the Patent Offices of the Chinese government in Hong Kong and Beijing.

Alexis’ experience in the chemical arts is wide-ranging and includes attention to developments involving polymer chemistry, organic and inorganic cleaning compositions and coating compositions, ceramic compositions, vinyl floor covering, pharmaceutical compositions and waste treatment developments, including those involving the use of microorganisms.

Prior to joining the firm, Alexis was of counsel at Synnestvedt & Lechner, LLP – a boutique intellectual property firm based in Philadelphia and Princeton. Alexis joined Synnestvedt as an associate in 1965 and became a partner in 1968. He served the firm as its managing partner for more than 10 years.
