October 16, 2018 – Press Releases

Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Brian McGinnis, who was recognized in the 2018 “Insider Out 100: LGBT Power” list by Insider NJ, one of New Jersey’s leading organizations covering policy and politics in the state.

This inaugural list highlights influential LGBT figures who are making their mark in New Jersey politics by advocating for policies that matter most to the LGBT community.

McGinnis has earned a reputation as a fierce advocate for the LGBT community. At the start of his career, he served as communications director for New Jersey Assembly Majority Leader Louis D. Greenwald and Assemblywoman Pamela R. Lampitt. Lampitt told Insider NJ that McGinnis is known for “fighting social injustice while igniting others to rally and make change happen.”

McGinnis serves as a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Independence Business Alliance (IBA), which is the LGBT Chamber of Commerce for the Greater Philadelphia region. McGinnis previously served as South Jersey Director for Garden State Equality – New Jersey’s leading LGBTQ civil rights advocacy organization.

In 2017, he was recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal as an Outstanding Voice for his sustained advocacy for LGBT issues. Also in 2017, he was recognized as an emerging leader in the law as part of Billy Penn’s prestigious “Who’s Next In Law” list.

In 2016, he was appointed to the Democratic National Committee's LGBT Advisory Board, which encourages conversation between LGBT communities across the country and mobilizes community members on behalf of LGBT-friendly candidates and policy issues at all levels. He also serves on the legislative committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association, which advises the board of trustees in taking positions on proposed legislation in New Jersey.

At Fox, McGinnis is a founding member of the Diversity Committee’s LGBTQ & Allies Initiative, which is dedicated to shaping and communicating the firm’s model of inclusiveness to the Fox family, legal community, law students and the larger community.

McGinnis earned his B.A. cum laude from the University of Delaware and his J.D. magna cum laude from Rutgers School of Law.
