Immigration Associate (Non-Partnership Track)

Fox Rothschild LLP has an opening in the Morristown, NJ office for a non-partnership track associate Immigration Associate. The ideal candidate will have at least 2-4 years of employment based immigration experience. Must have experience preparing and filing a full range of employment-based applications (H, L, E, O, P, EB-1 and EB-2 + EB-3 PERM labor certifications), independently conducting research, analyzing legal resources (including utilizing hard copy and computer based research materials), preparing applications under short, strict deadlines, communicating with clients, and maintaining document files and case docketing.  Must be a team player, detail-oriented with excellent writing, communication (oral/written), organizational and computer skills as well have a keen ability to analyze documents/facts and spot legal issues.  This is a full time position but affords a more predictable work schedule than a traditional associate position.  Must be licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of experience in patent prosecution, portfolio management, due diligence, opinions and licensing in the life sciences, with a technical background pertinent to the biotech and/or pharmaceutical industries (preferably a PhD). The ideal candidate will have 4 to 6 years of experience in California cannabis corporate and regulatory work.  Candidates with experience in both cannabis regulatory work and general corporate work are preferred, although candidates with strong experience in one or the other will be considered.  Candidate must have the willingness to remain apprised on the rapidly evolving cannabis regulations on a state level.   A background in corporate mergers and acquisitions, local regulatory schemes and tax (preferably 280E) is preferred.  A strong academic record, excellent writing skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are required. Entertainment Associate/Counsel

Los Angeles, CA

Fox Rothschild LLP has an opening for a mid-level entertainment associate/counsel to join the Los Angeles, CA office. The candidate will have at least four years of experience working at a major entertainment law firm, studio, production company, network, or premium streaming service.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrable experience negotiating and drafting development and production agreements for scripted and unscripted television series, motion pictures, and digital projects, including live action and animation.
  • Experience with agreements for writer, director, producer, performer, and other talent engagement, production company services, project shopping and attachment, network licensing and distribution, rights and intellectual property acquisition, test options, overall deals, literary publishing, and complex profit participation.
  • Demonstrable experience providing production legal services for television and film, including script and episodic clearance, materials and appearance releases, location agreements, product integrations and prizing.
  • Experience negotiating and drafting agreements for sponsorships and endorsement deals, including for celebrity talent and social media influencers.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and manage a high volume of tasks.
  • The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of union rules and procedures (e.g., SAG-AFTRA, WGA, DGA).
  • Pre-existing relationships with talent agents, entertainment lawyers, and business/legal affairs executives are a plus.

Fox Rothschild LLP has an opening for a Tax Associate in the Philadelphia, PA office. The ideal candidate will have 4 - 6 years of federal tax and/or mergers and acquisition experience in a public accounting firm or law firm. Having knowledge of a broad range of corporate and partnership tax matters, and state and local tax experience is a plus. The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: advising clients on corporate and partnership tax planning, applying and interpreting U.S. federal income tax law as it relates to partnerships/LLC’s/S corporations/C corporations, consolidated groups, corporate and partnership bankruptcies and insolvencies, tax efficient structuring and use of debt, the reorganization provisions of the Internal Revenue Code, technical writing and drafting, and reviewing tax related provisions of contracts and agreements.
