Crain’s Chicago Business Names Christopher Hines an Influential Minority Lawyer

December 11, 2017 – Press Releases

Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Christopher L. Hines, selected to the inaugural list of Most Influential Minority Lawyers by Crain’s Chicago Business for moving the needle in the city’s law community.

The award recognizes influential Chicago lawyers who are adeptly resolving client matters and actively demonstrating their legal knowledge.

Hines, an experienced patent attorney and computer programmer, handles the full range of intellectual property matters related to patents and trademarks. Among his client representations, he counsels a cloud computing company with a reported $1.4 billion in 2017 revenue and provides patent prosecution and technology transfer guidance for a major research university.

Additionally, Hines played a significant role in one of the highest profile intellectual property cases in recent years, participating in the Covered Business Method Review process for check-imaging patents that were at the center of litigation filed by DataTreasury Corporation. The voluminous litigation surrounding the patents is credited with shaping the America Invests Act.

Particularly well-versed in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in computer-related industries, Hines is a critical resource to a growing list of startup companies, helping them procure foundation-level IP assets.

Hines received his J.D. and B.S., cum laude, from Washington University in St. Louis.
