Daniel assists with a wide range of federal tax controversy matters at all stages of proceedings before the Internal Revenue Service, including examinations, appeals and collection proceedings, and in litigation in the U.S. Tax Court and other federal courts. Daniel also works on criminal tax investigations and assists clients in connection with offshore assets, including their tax, FBAR and FATCA reporting obligations.
Daniel also advises on tax transaction matters, including state and local tax issues.
He is also a regular contributor to the Tax Controversy Sentinel, a Fox blog that reports on the latest developments in tax controversy matters.
Before Fox Rothschild
Before joining Fox, Daniel served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Mark V. Holmes of the U.S. Tax Court in Washington, DC.
He was also an intern at a global auditing, tax and advisory firm. Daniel was a legal extern in the Washington, DC office of a global law firm and the Securities and Exchange Commission. Before that, he interned for the Honorable Stephen Louis A. Dillard of the Court of Appeals of Georgia. Daniel also worked as a graduate research assistant and student attorney in the Philip C. Cook Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic at Georgia State University College of Law.
