Elizabeth Sigety and Own It Ventures Support the Success of Women Entrepreneurs

Elizabeth “Liz” D. Sigety, who practices in the Technology and Venture Finance Practice and is co-chair of the Franchising, Licensing and Distribution Practice at Fox Rothschild LLP, has teamed up with Own It Ventures – an organization that supports women in business – for “Get Your Business Pitch Ready for Prime Time,” a roadshow designed to help women entrepreneurs perfect their business pitches.

The program will be held Friday, October 26 at Rutgers Business School in Newark, NJ from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will educate women entrepreneurs on the nuts and bolts of pitching a business. Sigety will join a panel of investors, retailers and media veterans for a discussion on what investors and banks consider when evaluating a business to fund; ways to generate media interest; and what retailers are looking for in a new product.

In her practice, Sigety focuses on a wide variety of corporate, venture finance, franchising, licensing and distribution matters. For more than 23 years, she has been a trusted adviser to clients, including startup companies and entrepreneurs, handling business and financial transactions such as venture capital and angel financing, mergers and acquisitions, franchising, licensing, securities and private placements.

Sigety is a Managing Director and Co-Founder of Delaware Crossing Investor Group. She is also the Co-Founder and Co-Chair of the Philadelphia Women’s Franchise Network of the International Franchise Association. She is involved with many local and national organizations including the Angel Capital Association, the Pennsylvania Angel Network, the International Franchise Association and the Professional Athletes Franchise Initiative, and serves on numerous non-profit boards in the Philadelphia and New York regions.

Sigety received her B.A., cum laude, from Yale College in 1986 and her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1989.
