Biography

Emily advises financial institutions, institutional investors and corporations on a broad range of commercial financing and real estate equity investment transactions. She assists banks and investment funds with construction, permanent and mezzanine loans as well as joint ventures and land banking.

In addition, Emily negotiates agreements involving the acquisition, sale and leasing of commercial real estate. She advises clients on other real estate matters such as due diligence investigations, title and survey review and default rights and remedies. She also provides business counseling on entity formation and operating agreements.

Beyond Fox Rothschild

Emily provides pro bono services through Fox Rothschild’s partnership with Lunar Startups, a nonprofit organization that supports growth, connection and innovation for entrepreneurs who identify as women, Black, Indigenous, people of color and LGBTQ+ in the Twin Cities region. She also serves as a housing court volunteer for the Volunteer Lawyers Network, which provides no-cost civil legal services to low-income individuals.

Before Fox Rothschild

During law school, Emily served as a law clerk for a Minneapolis-based firm and judicial extern for the Honorable Joanne Turner, Chief Judge of the Minnesota Tax Court. In addition, Emily was a managing editor of the University of Minnesota Law Review. Before law school, Emily worked for IBM as a financial analyst.
