Equal Pay: What’s Ahead in Legislation & Litigation
1 Borgata Way
Atlantic City, NJ 08401
Equal Pay laws at the state and federal level have been on the books for over half a century, but pay disparities persist. Women in Pennsylvania make about 80 percent of what men are paid, and the wage gap is even larger for women of color. African American women and Latinas, on average, make only 68 percent and 57 percent, respectively, of the wages paid to white men. Research also suggests that LGBT workers also experience a pay disparity. In this course, a panel of experts will discuss the persistence of these disparities, the proposed legislation to fix it and the pending litigation in this area.
