Fox Rothschild to Host Complimentary Labor & Employment Seminar
2:00 to 6:00 pm
Fox Rothschild LLP will host a free labor and employment seminar on Wednesday, September 17, 2008. The seminar will be held at the Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort in Shawnee on the Delaware, Pennsylvania, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. and includes a cocktail reception.
Attorneys Beth Hindale-Piller and Brian A. Caufield will present at the event, which will focus on workforce issues such as working in a unionized setting, union avoidance, effect of the Employee Free Choice Act, and compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Hinsdale-Piller, who is a partner in the firm’s Labor & Employment Department, represents both private and public sector entities in all areas of labor and employment law, including: conducting interactive manager, supervisor, and rank-and-file employee training in areas such as harassment, diversity, wage and hour compliance, hiring and firing, discipline, and effective interviewing; conducting one-on-one counseling sessions; and conducting harassment and other work-place investigations.
Caufield focuses his practice on traditional labor matters, with an emphasis on National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) proceedings and labor arbitrations. Prior to joining Fox Rothschild, Caufield was a field attorney for the NLRB, Region 22, where he assisted in the enforcement of the National Labor Relations Act by investigating charges of unfair labor practices and processing representation petitions. Caufield also maintains a blog that tracks the Employee Free Choice Act and addresses issues related to what could be the most significant changes to private sector labor relations law in over 70 years.
