The Department of Homeland Security recently increased enforcement of worksite regulations. So far this year, more than 5,200 Notices of Inspection have been sent to U.S. businesses. Each employer that receives an NOI will have its I-9 Employment Verification records audited to determine compliance with existing laws. What does this mean for employers?  What are the I-9 requirements?  How can an employer take steps to be prepared for an I-9 audit?  What happens during an inspection?  What rights do the employees have?  A distinguished panel - composed primarily of government of agency speakers - will address these questions and more.  Specific topics include:

  • Immigration 101 (agencies and roles)
  • I-9 requirements and documentation retention requirements
  • Worksite inspections/enforcement
  • HIPAA and privacy rights of patients
  • Patients seeking medical treatment in the U.S. and satisfactory departure
This luncheon has been approved for 2 hours of Substantive CLE credit.

There is a cost to attend this event.
