Triad Business Journal Names Kimberly Bullock Gatling Among ‘Outstanding Women in Business’ Honorees

Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Kimberly Bullock Gatling, who was named to the 2020 class of “Outstanding Women in Business” by the Triad Business Journal.

The annual award features women “Triad leaders who've changed their professions, industries and communities.”

A trailblazer in the legal industry, Gatling was the first African American to make partner in the nearly 100-year history of Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP’s Greensboro office, which combined with Fox in 2018. Gatling now serves as the primary intellectual property attorney in the office, managing international trademark portfolios and prosecuting computer software, business method, mechanical and design patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She handles transactional matters involving software and intellectual property and routinely advises on intellectual property litigation.

Gatling is also a leader in her community, serving as Chair of the Board of the United Way of Greater Greensboro and Vice-Chair of the Board of the Cone Health Foundation, which invests in the development and support of activities, programs and organizations that measurably improve the health of people in the greater Greensboro area. She also serves on the Board of Trustees of her alma mater, North Carolina A&T State University, and has been involved in and held leadership positions with the Gateway Research Park, Triad Stage, Habitat for Humanity, American Cancer Society, Jack and Jill of America, Inc., and The Links, Incorporated - Greensboro Chapter.

She earned her J.D. from George Washington University and her B.S., cum laude, in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University.
