James focuses his practice on the aviation industry, with an emphasis on regulatory counseling and FAA enforcement matters. He also has extensive experience in insurance regulatory and coverage matters. 

James has experience representing carriers, aircraft owners, fixed-base operators and aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities in proceedings before state and federal courts and before the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board. He has also counseled major airline clients in numerous matters involving compliance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations and provided advice on conducting internal investigations. In addition, James has represented and advised aviation insurers in coverage matters involving claims of wrongful death, personal injury and property damage. He has also participated in the representation of a public utility during NTSB investigations involving gas pipeline incidents.

Prior to joining Fox, James was an attorney in the aviation practice at LeClairRyan. He also practiced law in the McLean, Virginia office of Dentons US LLP. James also worked in the Washington, DC and Virginia offices of a number of global and local law firms.
