Fox Welcomes IP Pro Dianna G. El Hioum in New York

Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to announce that Dianna G. El Hioum has joined the New York office as a partner in the Intellectual Property Department.

MacLeod, Ph.D., Fox’s New York office managing partner. “Dianna’s global patent prosecution practice, coupled with her background in biotechnology and her industry-leading work in the field of shooting sports, will certainly be an asset to clients nationwide.”

El Hioum focuses on global patent prosecution, agreements, and opinion work.  She counsels clients on a variety of issues, including post-grant proceedings, drafting and negotiating license agreements, dispute resolution, freedom to operate investigations and opinions on non-infringement, invalidity, patentability and enforceability issues, as well as trademark and copyright matters.

With vast experience handling matters in biotechnology, chemistry and large-scale drug manufacturing, El Hioum understands the development of drugs and medical devices, from early stage research and patenting to FDA-approval, production and marketing. 

A skilled negotiator and persuasive writer, El Hioum has a proven record of obtaining valuable patents, including Orange book listings, and resolving disputes both before and during litigation.

Additionally, she is well versed in the shooting sports industry and regularly handles IP matters related to firearm mechanisms, components and ammunition, including issues involving the U.S. Department of Defense.

El Hioum received her J.D., cum laude, from Boston College Law School and her B.S. in chemistry from MIT.

Prior to joining Fox, El Hioum was managing partner of the New York office of Merchant & Gould P.C. and served as chair of the firm’s Shooting Sports Practice.
